Claudio is a former student of Setrem’s Information Systems course and a member of the Laboratory of Advanced Research on Cloud Computing (LARCC). He was approved for the master’s degree in Computer Science at PUCRS and awarded with a scholarship provided by CAPES.

The student’s interest has always been focused on computing and research. Therefore, in parallel to his graduation, in 2018, Scheer joined LARCC as a student of scientific initiation and today collaborates as an associate researcher.

“I chose PUCRS because it is one of the best universities in Brazil in this area and offers the possibility to continue studies beyond the master’s degree”, adds Scheer. The selection process was carried out through the evaluation of the student’s curriculum. “The main document taken into account in the selection process was the Lattes curriculum, which, in addition to other topics, contains published papers and developed projects. Many of those developed at LARCC”, adds Scheer.

For students who wish to pursue an academic career, LARCC offers a theoretical and practical basis for the development of scientific research. In addition, it offers a suitable computational infrastructure properly to perform advanced research.

Claudio Scheer is also currently a member of the Parallel Applications Modelling Group (GMAP). The student’s focus is on Artificial Intelligence and parallel programming subjects. The objective is to create a good knowledge base and, later, in the master’s thesis, to unite the two areas.
